Grounded
Posted by "M" at 12:35 pm in All About Me

My mom and dad had a conference with my teacher and it did not go good for me. They seem to think that all my blogging and investigative reporter work has bitten into my school work time, and my grades are “not where they should be” this year.

So, I’m grounded. I bawled, pouted, pleaded, reasoned and threatened to run away from home. Didn’t work. I won’t be blogging near as much for the next few weeks. But, I will sneak on here whenever I can and let you know what’s going on.

Oh No
Posted by "M" at 12:33 pm in School

Last year, when I was 8, my sister Brea told me that everything would change this year. I had NO idea what she meant - until today. Today, my teacher asked for volunteers to decorate our classroom for Valentine’s Day and about half the girls in the room started to giggle. Uncontrollably. I was so embarrassed for them. I mean, it was just plain silly and, in my opinion, an insult to girls everywhere.

What is the big deal with Valentine’s Day?  I mean, come on! The Jonas Brothers aren’t in my class. These are exactly the same boys we had last year, just a year older and bigger and clumsier. The only boy that doesn’t totally annoy me is my friend, Cory. He’s smart and he actually makes sense when he talks and - most importantly - he loves horses.

If this is what Valentine’s Day is going to be like from here on, I don’t want any part of it!

Just my opinion -

Back To School
Posted by "M" at 7:33 pm in My Friend Cory, School

This is what I looked like all weekend. Today, however, I was feeling like my old self again, so I went to school! I was actually glad to get back to class, can you believe it? LOL When I got there, I found out that I wasn’t the only one who got sick after last week’s arctic fire drill. Three other kids got sick, too.  My friend, Cory, said that my mom formed an Angry Mom Posse and they paid our principal, Ms. Greene, a visit.  The rumor is, Ms. Greene has been cranky ever since.

It might have been my imagination, but I think Ms. Greene gave me the evil eye today when I walked past her on the way to the lunch room. FYI: The Evil Eye is an old gypsy curse. I read about it when I was doing research on Mac’s Spook Light Mystery. Ms. Greene wears big hoopy earrings, so she kinda looks gypsy-ish.

Everybody else healthy out there?  Just checkin’.

Home Today
Posted by "M" at 1:42 pm in School

I’m home today. I got a fever in the night and still had it this morning when I woke up, so Mom said I had to stay home in bed today. Then she got into her little white pickup truck and drove into town. Dad said she’s going to my school! I guess after I went to bed last night mom got on the phone and called a bunch of parents about that dumb fire drill.  My mom is M.I.F.F.E.D. Gee, I feel kinda sorry for Ms. Greene.  I’ve seen mom when she’s mad.  LOL

So, here I am feeling kinda puny but just good enough to be bored. Emmy, what book did you read? And what are some of your favorites?  I love to read.  Hey, if anyone else has book recommendations, I’m listening!

Oh, here’s my other question: Have your parents ever gotten angry and gone up to the school? Hope I feel good tomorrow; it’s Saturday!

Brrrrrrrrr!
Posted by "M" at 3:29 pm in School

We had a fire drill today. Today! It was 11 degrees outside!  Hel-loooooow! Earth to Ms. Green (that’s our Principal; she’s new this year) What were you thinking?!? Have you ever heard of a little thing called frost bite? How about hypothermia? Nobody had their coats on when the alarm went off; and you’re not supposed to stop by you locker and get your winter gear in the middle of a drill. It’s a time thing.

The good news: we cleared the building in record time. The bad news: we stood out in the cold for 27 minutes. Shivering. I haven’t been able to get warm since. Grandmas is making me a big pot of her famous chicken soup. And mom says I can’t go to the barn to see Misteena this evening. I’m supposed to sit by the fire, eat chicken soup and take vitamin C and D.

You know how I’m spending my evening. What are you doing?

The Wait is Almost Over

Just a quick note to let you know 2 extremely important things:

1.  Patty will post the winners’ names TOMORROW for the Video Contest and Caron’s Quiz, and  -

2.  Spring will be here in 54 days.

Hang in There!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to finish my English homework.  Is there a school anywhere in the U.S. that does NOT give homework? LMK

Somethin’s Up!
Posted by "M" at 9:17 am in Our Horse Club

You know, Patty and Caron were gone last week to that Yarn Camp. Caron described it as an “adventure” but I’m having a little trouble thinking of knitting as an adventurous experience… maybe you had to be there. ???

Anyway, Caron has spent the last 2 days reading through all the Caron’s Quiz contest entries she got. I think she’s about to pick a winner.  It all hinges on those Winter Tips, you know.  I will be waiting outside her office for an exclusive iHorseClub interview.  That’s what reporters do, you know!

In the  meantime, get out there and have some fun today!

Hel-looooooow
Posted by "M" at 3:32 pm in All About Me

I know I complain A LOT about homework and stuff, but I am sort of ready to get back into my regular routine. Monday, there was no school. Yesterday, we watched TV at school. All. Day. Long. It was for the Inauguration. My, there were a lot of people in Washington! Glad I wasn’t there. Why? Where were the restrooms?  I mean, did you see any?  I worried about all those people standing out in the cold all day long with no restrooms. My teacher says I’m too practical, but I can’t help that my mind works that way.

That’s also the reason I don’t ever want to be an astronaut - the restroom situation. Also, I don’t think you can wear makeup if you’re an astronaut, and I would like to wear some makeup in a few years - not a lot, just a  little. So, why would you want to go on a trip - especially an important trip like into space - WITHOUT makeup?  Doesn’t make sense.

You can see my predicament - My routine has been interrupted by a bunch of holidays and special stuff. And now, here I am - worried about restrooms and makeup.  Anybody else feel like this?

Kinda Off Track -

Go Brea!
Posted by "M" at 9:10 am in Uncategorized

By big sister is brilliant!  She talked to Mac and to me last night about this new idea she had at school yesterday. She thought that it might be fun to start posting over on the iHorseClub forum, too!  What a great idea! Hopefully, it’ll give us a chance to meet even MORE members!

We were all supposed to write posts over the weekend, but I couldn’t wait. I wrote mine last night. Boy, will Patty and Caron be surprised when they get back! Okay, run on over and read my post - and leave me a message!
